One of the many great food brands I discovered at this year’s BBC Good Food Show Summer was the Great British Sauce Company. They sell a range of delicious sauces in the following flavours: Proper Tomato, Proper Brown, Tomato & Mustard, Tomato & Habanero Chilli, Sweet Curry, and Hot & Sweet Chilli. In a competitive market they really stood out to me with their eye-catching branding and fresh and flavoursome tasting sauces!
At the BBC Good Food Show Bloggers Meet Up a few months ago we were all lucky enough to receive a bottle of their Tomato and Mustard Sauce. I’m not the biggest fan of mustard, but I still really liked this sauce as it had lots of flavour and just a mild hint of mustard. It’s perfect for the upcoming BBQ season to use with sausages and burgers.
I also used mine to make this Tomato and Mustard Baked Chicken as a quick, easy and tasty midweek meal. To make it cover a chicken breast in 2-3 tbsp of the Tomato and Mustard Sauce then bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through. The sauce goes all sticky like a glaze and is great served on top of a salad, in wraps, with herby wedges or with my Summer Pesto and Roasted Tomato Cous Cous.
I picked up a bottle of their Sweet Curry Sauce at the BBC Good Food Show Summer too. It has a wonderful sweet, mild curry flavour and reminds me of chip shop curry sauce…only 100x better! It’s great with homemade chips or chunky slices of gammon….and they even suggest using it to make kedgeree too which I think would be so good, Like with the sauce above, it works great as a glaze/sauce covered over a chicken breast and served with rice and extra sauce on the side.
I’ve not had a chance to try their other sauces yet, but if the two I have tried are anything to go by then they are going to be just as good too! Make sure you buy some of the GB Sauce Company’s sauces soon, and use their store locator to find your nearest stockist. And for more recipe ideas, check out the recipe section on their website here.
